This is a perfect compass for my needs. It's very well made, the scales and magnifier are useful and after tolerating a northern hemisphere compass for years is a joy to use in the magnetic south. It is also a nice looking unit.

Simple, reliable compass. Best of all was the friendly and speedy service provided by the OSoA team - many thanks!

Very happy with this product. It will be perfect for my rogaines and bushwalking, easy to read and has the right scales for my use. I think it is good value for what you get compared to some of the pricier compasses out there.

Clear easy to read degree markers. Ticks the boxes with the 1-25000 and 1-50000 scales for topo maps. the mm feature is right on the compass front edge making point to point distance calcs easy and the graduated lanyard, is useful however an improvement could be that the M & Km are on the outside of the lanyard not the underside of the model sold in Oz.The sub dial has an E & W declination scale, THATS a nice feature. We like em, as good as far more expensive model and if we lose them in the field its not a tragedy.

Although the needle isn't as stable as you might need for running in an orienteering event, it was fine for using on a rogaine at a moderate pace. The distance lanyard is useful although can be awkward as the compass is attached to the hand by it. The bearing line is obscured by the large numbers at times but at least the bearing is easy to see. Perhaps the bearing line could be a different colour? The scales on the compass sides are very useful.
Performs exactly as touted. Very good indeed.

Great performance for Rogaining. Very happy indeed.

Another quality Silva compass. Purchased to take hunting as a fail-safe for when technology inevitably lets me down (battery, signal, etc). Scale lanyard helps to quickly estimate distance at a glance. Large rubberised easy-grip dial makes for ease-of-use in poor weather. Mood dependant, my son and I enjoy the compass and map far more than the GPS.

My second Ranger. Excellent compass for general bushwalking with everything that you need and nothing that you do not need.
